FRED R. COHEN

Fred R. Cohen has worked in technology law for over 25 years. Before joining Exeter, Mr. Cohen was of counsel to the law firms of White & Case and LeBoeuf Lamb, and in-house counsel for J.P. Morgan Chase. In addition to his law degree from the Columbia Law School, he received joint bachelor's degrees from NYU (BA, cum laude, BE, magna cum laude), and a Masters degree in Mathematics from U.C. Berkeley. Mr. Cohen was a National Danforth Fellow.

Mr. Cohen has structured, negotiated and drafted outsourcing and service relationship agreements, domestically and internationally (UK, Germany, Hong Kong, Australia, India), with some of the largest and best known financial service firms, consulting organizations, technology vendors and industrial and consumer products companies. Among other transactions, Mr. Cohen was responsible for the legal work on behalf of The Chase Manhattan Bank when it competed for the customer service and back office processing of E-ZPass on behalf of a consortium of local highways including the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey. He has also supported startups and significant not-for-profit companies including DonorsChoose.org and Imtooyoungforthis.org.

Mr. Cohen has extensive licensing experience with trademarks, copyrights, patents, know-how and trade secrets and has counseled in the creation of company policies regarding Internet use, e-mail use, privacy, secrecy and intellectual property. In 2006 he was named one of New York's 14 "Superlawyers" in technology and outsourcing and has lectured to the Association of the Bar of the City of New York (ABCNY) on outsourcing.
